Diva's Weekly Challenge # 257 - Ooo Shiny!

Hiya Folks!!!

First off a huge thank you to all who commented and saw my last blog post.... You guys make my day!!! :)

Yes, I have been away for a few weeks. I was sick for awhile and then I attended a workshop on a traditional art form of South India called Kerala Mural Painting. 

A little bit about the art form - Its a Mural art form where pictures of a religious nature are depicted on Temple Walls. Its a very old form of art which is now regaining its grandeur and elegance. For a very long time it was a dying art form. This is specific to the Southern State of India called Kerala. Other States also have their own form of traditional art.

In the coming weeks I will be compiling all that I learnt in this workshop and post here so that if any of you would like to attempt it, the info will be helpful....:)

Here below is the canvas I painted. It is roughly the size of an A4 sheet of paper. The traditional form is painted using natural pigments but here I have used Acrylic Paints. This is the form of a God named Krishna.....:)

And now here is my entry for the weeks challenge - Ive used a new pattern called DILLO. I tried using a lil bling using sparkly pen but sadly it doesnt show well on this image....

Ive been visiting everyone's post and I am amazed at the talent! Each and everyone of you are so gifted and artistic.... and inspire me more and more....:)

This week we have to use MOLYGON, a new tangle, and I had fun doing it...:) Ive fashioned a ROSE with it.... yep that Mandala fever is still on! (wink wink!)

Diva's Weekly Challenge # 252 - INCEPTION

Hiya Folks!

A huge thank you to all you wonderful people who saw and commented on my last blog post. Yes, in future I will post my entry irrespective of the 'paper' available! @ Anne - Mandala Paper? Wow!!! What kind of paper is that? I would love to source some...:)

This is my favorite place to be! The love and warmth here is overwhelming!!!! 

Awww so sorry to hear Artoo has been unwell Laura! Hope the lil tyke is well now and getting better as each day passes!!!....

And now here is my entry for the week - Ive used the tangle WELL and it is in a MANDALA!!!! Yeah, no surprises there!!!!

Diva's Weekly Challenge #251 - Moebius Syndrome

I am so overwhelmed at the response to my entry for the Challenge # 249! Wow its so good to be back and what a welcome!!!!

Thank you all so much for the awesome comments :) I am so touched :)

Last weeks Challenge was about using a tile and go the traditional Zentangle way. I didnt participate as 

1. I dont have tiles. Never used them. While living in the Middle East I never could source them. So opted for regular paper or a Moleskin. 

2. Ive so grown used to not having tiles that I felt an entry on regular paper is not really doing the Challenge right so I just let it be.

This week is once again Moebius Syndrome Week.... Its so wonderful to see lil Artoo all so big now! What a handsome lil man he is growing into....:)

Without further ado my entry for the week.....:)

Ive put the symbol in a Mandala! Oh Yeah! Im sure by now you would've guessed that im currently suffering from a Mandala Mania... Im sorry there seems to be no cure for it at this point in time! Im told once I get this fever outta me (after drawing probably a zillion of them) I may be cured! :) 

Ive put the letter A in the centre for our lil Artoo! Hope you guys like it...:)

Happy 2016... It's the Revival!

Hi Everyone!

Yes it's me, back again! I missed u guys!

Let me begin by wishing all of you an awesome 2016! Hope this New Year you reach new heights and the year is filled with happiness... :)

I've been quite busy myself since I last posted here. I've resigned my job to be a full time artist! Yes! I finally took that step to follow my heart... and am very happy I did! In that time I took some classes in acrylic painting but zentangle has always been my first love and always will be. .. :)

2016 onwards I hope to keep this blog open and going. It's been redundant for more than a year. I will post work I've been doing along with some details on how I did it. This is to help some of my friends learn this wonderful art and also for me to learn from others too! If any of you feel I could incorporate changes please feel free to comment in the comments section below. I will see if it can be done ... :)

Learning never stops and I truly believe everyone has something to teach me. So here's to a wonderful 2016 !

Weekly Challenge #177 - Truffle

Hiya folks!

It's been months since I've posted here. I've actually been relocating. I've now come back to my roots, India!

It's taken me a while to setup my home and get settled in. I've been doing lil bits and pieces of tangling. But haven't done anything concrete in the last 3 months.

So decided to break that with this post here! So without further ado.... my entry for the week..... my take on Truffle!

I'm sorry for the poor quality of the picture. Don't have a scanner yet so making do with my tablet! I've used Sprigs with a tangeleation of Truffle. Looks like a lotus!

This week - OMG! Its my nemesis! QUANDARY!!!!! The minute I read it, I flipped! My last attempt at QUANDARY is best forgotten!.... But well, its a challenge! And here I MUST thank Ellen Wolters! The lady's YouTube tutorials are pure manna from heaven for the likes of us who find it difficult to conquer patterns like Quandary! THANK YOU so much Ellen! Your a godsend!....:)))

This week's Challenge honestly had me open mouthed. Why? Let me explain.... I love to do huge pieces of ZIA's and Ive also posted a few on here on my blog. So for my next piece I was pondering what to do next and decided to do spirals. And then I opened up the Diva's site to check the week's challenge and viola! We have spirals this week!!! 

So here is my piece folks - its quite simple but my larger piece will hopefully have more oomph!... :P

Thank you all for the comments on my last post! I enjoyed the Challenge of the Curvy Grid as I love those curves....:)

And now, once again its time for the Weekly Diva's Challenge and this time around it really was a challenge! For the life of me I just couldn't get CHARLIE right! It was like my pen was jinxed!!! And on top of that my scanner is acting up! 

I finally managed to get this piece done though I know it could look better!

Without further ado, here is my entry for the week......:) Ive used Knot Rickz and Charlie....with a touch of the Bronx Cheer....I needed some "cheer" after my many trials with Charlie.....:(

This weeks Challenge calls for leaving white spaces in your tile. Now Ive never faced that obstacle. I do leave white spaces most of the time unless my string calls for it or if I just get so taken up with it that I fill up every lil space!...:))

Diva's Challenge #154 - Valentangle!!!!!

A HUGE Thank You to all those who encouraged me and commented on my last post...:) I wasnt sure if I had done justice to Jailed Johnny....but it was well received....THANK YOU...:)) 

Its Valentine on Friday!!! And yes this weeks Challenge - Valentangle (what a cutesy name..!) is appropriate...:) Well this month Ive been trying to do some tangling as frequent as I can! I remember beginning One Tangle A Day and it kinda just stopped. So I decided NOT to set any goals as such but just tangle as and when I feel the ZEN. And this month Ive been trying to do just that!

So first off my entry for this week's challenge and then I will post the other pieces I did celebrating the Month of Love ..... :))

Here Ive tried to use Water color pencils and its just flowers and yep it does look a tad messy because I had to finish this quick and spent not more than 20 minutes on it.....
