Challenge # 87 - PEACE.....

And its time again for the Diva's Challenge #87, Pinwheel for Peace. This couldnt have come at a more appropriate time than now when many parts of the world are seeing a spate of intolerance in the name of religion. Seems to me people have forgotten the meaning of Peace. Its seems more like an eye for an eye - it will just make the whole world go blind. So says Mahatma Gandhiji. And yet we as people seem more willing to go blind ..... really a sad state of affairs.

Now, here is MY entry for this week's challenge.

My Earlier Works - with Charcoal

When I began my course with Patric, the next medium I just simple LOVED was charcoal. It gave me a lot of room to work with shading which I havent yet mastered with Pencil. Here I show you some of my initial work with charcoal. I have a LOT of work and practice to do but I am happy with my efforts. For one who had let art take a back seat for so many years I wasnt really sure of being able to deliver again. Now I have more confidence in myself as a person and as an artist. And I have to thank Patric for giving me the much needed encouragement to forge ahead.....

I also would like to thank all those artistes whose works Ive only seen on the internet for inspiring me to work harder at my art.... Thank you....:)

Zendala Dare # 23

Its time for the Zendala Dare of the week, #23. I must say I was having quite an UN-ZEN like few days and I was quite distracted. I was suddenly left with a completely BLANK mind! For a moment I had forgotten how to zentangle!!!!!

A few stupid attempts and very childlike strokes and possibly atleast 10 'rough' drawings later....I finally zeroed down to this......

Zentangle Ganesha 1 & 2

When Dilip Patel CZT 9, asked me if I would be interested in ding a Zentangle Ganesha for his collection, for a minute I was open mouthed. Ever since I had seen his Ganesha's I had wanted to try them out too. But being so new to all of this I was a little nervous to take the plunge. But seeing his message, I just HAD to make them for him. It was like I was being goaded from within to Just Do It!

My very first attempt was.....Blah....Im not happy. But Im a little more happier (not completely) with my second attempt.
