Zendala Dare # 25

I was encouraged by all those lovely comments on the usage of RED and decided to give it a go one more time...:) So with this weeks Zendala Dare, I have used RED once again and I must say "I'm Lovin It"...:)

I was stumped when I found out the number of points on the star wasnt an even number and therefore did a sprig of flowers.....looks a tad out of place.....

Acrylics - Meets Canvas...:)

Ive been trying my hand at Pencil Sketching. My mum ofcourse goes Ohh and Ahh over it...:) Like ALL Mums....and yes it IS an inspiration to keep practicing and get better at it. So here are a couple I did....

Diva's Challenge # 88

And its time once again for the Diva's Challenge of the Week, using IX, created by Rick. To be honest when I first saw it on the newsletter, I wasnt sure I would be able to create anything with it. The IX is in itself a complete piece and to make a tile with it and also add a few other tangles called for a lot of creativity (for me atleast...:) )

And so I did a rough sketch on a piece of paper and here is the end result!..:) I used a tad of RED Color for a lil ooomph factor...:))

And its time for the Weekly Zendala Dare....!!! For me its like Christmas every week..:) Yeah, sounds corny I guess but I wait every week for both the Zendala Dare & The Diva's Challenges. Both refresh me for the week...:))

Challenge # 87 - PEACE.....

And its time again for the Diva's Challenge #87, Pinwheel for Peace. This couldnt have come at a more appropriate time than now when many parts of the world are seeing a spate of intolerance in the name of religion. Seems to me people have forgotten the meaning of Peace. Its seems more like an eye for an eye - it will just make the whole world go blind. So says Mahatma Gandhiji. And yet we as people seem more willing to go blind ..... really a sad state of affairs.

Now, here is MY entry for this week's challenge.

My Earlier Works - with Charcoal

When I began my course with Patric, the next medium I just simple LOVED was charcoal. It gave me a lot of room to work with shading which I havent yet mastered with Pencil. Here I show you some of my initial work with charcoal. I have a LOT of work and practice to do but I am happy with my efforts. For one who had let art take a back seat for so many years I wasnt really sure of being able to deliver again. Now I have more confidence in myself as a person and as an artist. And I have to thank Patric for giving me the much needed encouragement to forge ahead.....

I also would like to thank all those artistes whose works Ive only seen on the internet for inspiring me to work harder at my art.... Thank you....:)

Zendala Dare # 23

Its time for the Zendala Dare of the week, #23. I must say I was having quite an UN-ZEN like few days and I was quite distracted. I was suddenly left with a completely BLANK mind! For a moment I had forgotten how to zentangle!!!!!

A few stupid attempts and very childlike strokes and possibly atleast 10 'rough' drawings later....I finally zeroed down to this......

Zentangle Ganesha 1 & 2

When Dilip Patel CZT 9, asked me if I would be interested in ding a Zentangle Ganesha for his collection, for a minute I was open mouthed. Ever since I had seen his Ganesha's I had wanted to try them out too. But being so new to all of this I was a little nervous to take the plunge. But seeing his message, I just HAD to make them for him. It was like I was being goaded from within to Just Do It!

My very first attempt was.....Blah....Im not happy. But Im a little more happier (not completely) with my second attempt.

The Diva's Challenge # 85

The Diva gives out a challenge every week and being a complete novice at this Ive just discovered so many CZT Teachers on this wonderful world wide web. This week the Challenge was to use "Copada" created by Margaret Bremner another wonderful artist and CZT. I do hope my piece is worth an entry...:)

A Gift...

Ever since Ive been introduced to this wonderful world of Zentangles Ive googled and come across so many people across the globe who are as hooked onto it as me...:)

Many have inspired me to do more. I am such an amateur compared to all of them....Pinterest also came back with a lot of hits and I am amazed at the talent out there...:)

Last week my boss saw one of my pieces and gifted me a Moleskin...:) And here is my first piece on it...:) I will in time revamp my blog to include all those blogs of fellow Zentanglers who so inspire me...!

Morning Cheer....

This weekend was way better than the rest. Met up two of my good friends and spent a couple of hours unwinding over hot tea and even hotter gossip ...:)

This morning when I woke up all I could see around me were different patterns reminding me of Zentangling...(yeah yeah it can be really addictive!)....
